Culture defined

Organizational culture is the tacit social order within a group or groups of people, driven by a Purpose, where values of the organization and individuals shape the individual and shared beliefs, that impact the thoughts, feelings and perceptions. These create the attitudes which manifest in the behaviours. The collective behaviours are what forms the distinctive culture within the organization.

Culture provides a sense of identity to members, promotes a sense of commitment, helps in attributing sense and meaning to organizational events, reinforces the values in the organization and shapes behaviour.
